Teaching your preschooler

Introduction

Teaching your preschooler can be one of the most challenging jobs. The whims and fancies of your preschooler may pose an insurmountable problem but with a little patience and the right approach the whole thing can become fun, not only to your child but also to you. Prepare yourself for teaching your kid with jigsaw puzzles. Choose the wooden ones that are eco-friendly and also simple. Colorful objects that attract your child can be used in demonstrating new things to him. Music and visual aid may be used in abundance. This will most certainly help your child to develop his skills in a better fashion.

One needs to follow three simple things in mind when they are all set to teach their child. Keeping it fun and light and embracing the teachable moment. One should schedule your lesson time in the exact manner so that the child can pay attention and learn while having fun in the process. Preschool education is very important for your child so hold your cool when your child throws tantrums. They are only common among preschoolers and need to be very effectively dealt with. Give them waste paper which they may destroy and give vent to their feelings.

Teaching your preschooler to read:

Preschoolers can learn fast and they remember almost everything they have been taught. It’s not very difficult and can be done with a little bit of patience. Preschool curriculum does not include very elaborate reading but identifying letters and numbers can be a good start for beginners who are getting geared up for kindergarten. Reading includes memory, imagination, listening, and creativity. This enhances several of the skills of the child. Repetition is the key to success as repeating words would help them to make an association and they would be able to make a connection and hence in the process remember.

Teaching your preschooler to write:

Using dots to write letters is a common method of teaching your child to write which is very beneficial. As far as writing is concerned holding the pencil properly is absolutely right is essential because that will determine his/her handwriting. Again colored papers and pictures used on the book may help enhance his interest. Work on developing those finger muscles. Place a piece of sponge in her palm and let her close the little and ring finger around it and automatically the child will hold the pencil tightly. For finer muscular movement outlining pictures can also be done.
